Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) in Bethesda is looking to hire an Alto Section Leader to begin Thursday, April 28, 2022. 

The section leaders sing for Thursday night rehearsals (usually 7:30-9:30pm), and the 10:30 Sunday Service (9:45am call), September through late May, approximately 90-96 calls per year at $105.00/call. Total annual compensation approaches or exceeds $10,000 per year. There are opportunities to make additional compensation for weddings and funerals. 

The choir sings two-three anthems per Sunday of varying repertoire from Renaissance polyphony, to masterworks (often with period orchestra) such as Brahms’ Requiem, J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion, Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and Pärt’s Passio, to works Commissioned for Bradley Hills through the Sutherland Endowment Fund. The Section Leaders sing solos and quartet works as needed. In addition to Sunday morning worship, Section Leaders sing for Christmas Eve, the evenings of Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, as well as two Services Easter Morning.

Qualifications: Applicants must have superb musicianship, significant choral experience at a high level, the ability to work with and lead a section of volunteers of varied ability levels, to sing solos and in a consort setting at the highest artistic level, and to be a team player.
