Services: Artist Application

NOTE on 7/7/10: The Singer Source soprano and alto roster is currently full. There are limited spaces for tenors and for basses with a substantive lower register. While I regret having to post this announcement, it is simply not fair to women currently in the roster to increase competition in a compromised job market.

Singer Source provides an excellent opportunity for singers to network with local clients and increase their internet presence.
As a member of the Singer Source roster you will receive the following:

~Public listing on the ‘Request to Hire a Singer’ portion of Singersource.com which displays singers’s head-shots and provides an external link to singers’ websites.
~Connection to organizations and individuals looking to hire singers through email and referral.
~Access to a private calendar which lists engagements not found in the classified section of Singersource.com.
~Networking with Singer Source subscribers through a database of over 1,000 professional singers, music directors, voice teachers, choir directors and patrons of vocal music in the D.C. Metropolitan area.

It is expected that hired singers uphold a high standard of professional conduct. These CONTRACT GUIDELINES FOR SINGERS provide a basic outline. This is especially crucial when singers are hired as section leaders for ensemble work, which is largely volunteer-based.

Singers have participated in venues at the Kennedy Center, Strathmore Center for the Arts, Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, Schelssinger Concert Hall, Washington National Cathedral, Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Smithsonian, and at local churches, temples, recitals, and private functions. Church work ranges from choir substitute section leader to quartet or soloist for services, concerts, weddings or funerals. Ensemble work includes ringers or soloists for concerts or special events.

To apply, simply E-mail your work experience or résumé to Lisa at lisa@singersource.com. No phone-calls, please. Include recent references with contact information. Audio and repertoire list is required of soloists.
Choral and solo voices are welcome. Soloists need understand that those with substantive choral experience will be given priority for solo work.
You will be contacted within two weeks of submitting your materials. The fee for registered singers is $30/year. Please do not submit payment until your application has been approved. Thank you.
