Looking for an alto, soprano and tenor who are "quick studies" to  help with anthems and service music during the Holy Week at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 2800 Pennsylvania Ave, Southeast Washington,DC 20020. The Pay is $15/ rehearsal and $50/each service. There is a service for Holy Thursday April the 17th at 7 pm. The principal anthem for that service will be "What Wondrous Love" by Marshall Thomason in addition to the regular service music for the mass.


Seeking 3 tenors for the 2014-2015 season with the newly formed professional choir, The Twelve. Choir will be responsible for a weekly rehearsal, held on Wednesdays from 7:30-9:30 pm with around 8-10 concerts per season. In addition, there will also be around 8-10 Masses that the choir will sing at during the year at various parishes in the Washington D.C. area. Pay is as follows:

Rehearsal: $70 per

Concert: $120 per

Mass: $80 per

There will be an average of 40 rehearsals per season, beginning in late August. Those who seek to audition should have excellent sight reading skills, and be able to handle an extensive musical load, as we will be singing in excess of 50 pieces of music per season, ranging from Baroque to Contemporary pieces. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (1833 Reston Avenue, Herndon, Virginia)  is looking for a paid  Tenor section leader to begin immediately. 

Good Shepherd has a very unique and  strong  choral and music program. The semi-professional adult parish choir, about 40 strong, sings each Sunday, nine months a year, at the 11:00 AM and sometimes at the 8:00 am service. Each Sunday’s repertoire includes a complete setting of great and  different Lutheran Hymns, Mass ordinary and  anthems, We do variety of literature: from Handel’s Messiah, Rutter Gloria to Gospel, spirituals and Taize. The choir rehearses each Thursday evening from (7:30-9:30 PM).  . There is a total of 5 paid section leaders. All members of the choir, paid and volunteers, sing to very high professional standards.  Required skills include a beautiful voice but have ability to blend, strong sight-reading ability and ensemble singing experience, and to make music in a positive, friendly and rewarding atmosphere.   Solo opportunities will also be given.   Pay will be dependent on audition and experience.   Typically there are 8 to 10 calls per month, sometimes a little more.
